Rhinoceros by Eugène Ionesco (1959) presents the gradual literal and metaphorical transformation process of characters into rhinoceroses under strong influence dominant ideology throughout play. Ionesco’s play discusses highlights significance maintaining one’s own individuality instead mere adherence to a manipulative through struggle main character, Berenger. Berenger is in this respect different than other who adopt represented that does not tolerate plurality diversity opinions. The more turn rhinoceroses, stronger Berenger’s feeling solitude loneliness gets, which increases his alienation from society. This study will regard give brief relevant information about Theatre Absurd; then briefly introduce as playwright; finally discuss stands for loss their with specific references primary source secondary sources.
